North American Food Drive

November 1, 2011, is the official date for the 17th Annual North American Food Drive, the largest single-day, international philanthropic effort by college students. On this date thousands of brothers collect donations of non perishable food items or monetary gifts and donate it to a local area food pantry. On December 31st all totals must be verified by the appropriate food bank.

With a struggling economy and rising unemployment food pantries across the country are seeing a higher demand. Already many of these food pantries are seeing food shortages and as winter comes will be seeing even larger shortages. This makes this years North American Food Drive more important than ever. Our goal this year is to raise two million pounds of food across North America and with generosity of the all brother we can achieve it.

The North American Food Drive has provided more than 23 million pounds of food for needy families in local communities throughout the United States and Canada over the past 16 years. With the growing support of sponsors, local communities, and the outstanding efforts of more than 8,000 members, 1,532,294 pounds of food were donated last year.
